The Nutrition Consortium is pleased to announce
that the RFP process for choosing Nutrition Outreach and Education
Program (NOEP) subcontractors for the period July 1, 2007
ˆJune 30, 2011 has been completed and the successful
grantees have been notified. As a result of the competitive
process, 39 community-based, not-for-profit agencies will
be providing NOEP services in 54 areas across New York State;
14 agencies will serve all or parts of New York City, 8 will
serve upstate metropolitan areas, and 17 will serve other
upstate counties. NOEP services include informing the public
and eligible households about the benefits of Food Stamp Program
participation and also helping eligible households to apply
for and receive food stamp benefits.
The Nutrition Consortium board and staff look forward to
welcoming several new agencies to the NOEP effort and are
happy to have so many current subcontractors continuing to
provide NOEP services. For a complete list of community-based
agencies that will be receiving NOEP funding beginning July
