BROCHURES
Brochures on the Food Stamp Program with important information
for older adults:
The Eat Better Today
poster simply describes how people may use the new Electronic Benefit
System (EBT) system to redeem their food stamp benefits.
The Good Health
Starts with Good Nutrition brochure helps seniors to link food
stamps with the need for good nutrition in order to maintain good
health. It also gives a simple overview of how an older adult would
apply for and use their food stamp benefits at the grocery store.
The Food Stamp Facts
for Seniors brochure lists nine facts that encourage older adults
to apply for food stamp benefits. This flyer is customized with
average monthly food stamp allotments for both Upstate NY and New
York City.
The Standard Utility
Allowance (SUA) brochure describes how people who live in public
or subsidized housing and pay an extra fee for running their appliances
may be eligible for a raise in their food stamp benefits.
The Your Rights brochure
lists people’s rights and responsibilities when they apply
for and receive food stamp benefits.
The NYS Nutrition Improvement
Project (NYSNIP) flyer describes how those people who live alone
and receive SSI benefits will receive food stamp benefits through
NYSNIP. It also provides a statewide list of local NOEP contacts
for people who have questions. The synopsis and desk guide provides
a more in-depth overview of NYSNIP for senior service providers.
