You are invited to attend the
Senior Nutrition Assistance Program
Workgroup
WHO: Everyone who is concerned about older adults’ health
and nutrition.
WHAT: The Senior Nutrition Assistance Program Workgroup offers
an opportunity to meet with representatives from administering
agencies for federal and state nutrition programs, including USDA,
NYS OTDA, NYS OFA, NYS Ag & Markets, and NYS DOH, advocacy
organizations, local departments of Offices for the Aging and
Social Services and other providers of services.
WHY: This workgroup provides a regular forum to discuss the
issues of hunger and nutrition specific to older adults. It is
designed to help advocates, senior providers, state and county
senior nutrition program administrators, and other government
officials to coordinate outreach efforts and maximize resources
among nutrition assistance programs and other state and local
projects serving low-income seniors. The workgroup meets to share
information so that we can weave together a stronger network of
assistance and outreach, to ensure that low-income seniors in
our state maintain good nutrition and good health.
WHEN: Every other month, excluding the summer. Each meeting
starts at 11am and ends by 2pm. Contact the Nutrition Consortium
