Acknowledgments
The Nutrition Consortium of New York State greatly
appreciates the support of the many private foundations, public
agencies, and individuals who have made this publication possible.
In particular, we acknowledge the financial support
for the preparation and publication of this data book provided
by our partners in our Campaign to End Hunger, including MAZON:
A Jewish Response to Hunger; the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation;
Share Our Strength; and many individual donors throughout the
state. Public funding sources were also utilized in the preparation
of this document, provided by the Community Food and Nutrition
Program (a program through which the U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services allocates funds to the New York State Department
of State), and by the New York State Department of Healths
Nutrition Outreach and Education Program (supported in part
by funds from the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability
Assistance and USDA/FNS).
Nutrition program data and related statistics
were provided by the following government agencies: the New
York State Department of Health; the New York State Office of
Temporary and Disability Assistance; the New York State Education
Department; the New York State Office for the Aging; Empire
State Development; the New York State Department of Labor; and
the United States Department of Agriculture. We are grateful
that these agencies maintain this important data and make it
available.
Finally, we would like to express our appreciation
of the support of our dedicated Board of Directors, both in
the development of this publication, and in our ongoing fight
against hunger in New York State. We are also thankful for the
hard work of all Nutrition Consortium staff, and especially
acknowledge the work of Lisa Frank, who designed and prepared
this years edition.
